This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Sound Diagnosis OBGYN ultrasound clinic in Ottawa.
Dr Sharon Caughey and Dr. Marina Straszak-Suri are the proud owners of this facility which offers prompt, courteous professional service to the women of the Ottawa valley.
We have recently renovated the clinic and purchased the most advanced ultrasound technology.

Our sonographers are Sonography Canada and American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers certified.
We are a certified site for the Enhanced First Trimester Screening (eFTS) program.

FAQ'S
Booking an appointment
Please contact our office at (613) 739-4711 to book an appointment.
Most appointments take 15 to 30 minutes. All signed and completed requisitions are accepted from your physician or midwife. A valid health card (OHIP) is required.
Please make sure you arrive 10 minutes before your appointment. Allow time for parking.
Payments
We accept OHIP, DND, IFH & TPA. Uninsured patients may pay for their visits by Cash, Debit, Visa or Mastercard.
All patients from Quebec are required to pay at the time of services and patients can be reimbursed at Quebec rates. Contact 1-800-561-9749 or The Régie de l'assurance maladie du Québec if further information is needed.
Results
Our reporting physicians are Obstetrician-Gynecologists who interpret the results considering the clinical scenario of each individial patient. Urgent results are reported within the same day and nonurgent results usually within twenty-four hours.
Patient Preparation
Finish drinking 1L (4 cups) of water or clear liquid one hour before the time of your appointment. Please keep a full bladder. Full instructions will be given to you at the time of booking.
Parking
All patients and visitors parking lots and meter parking have accessible parking spaces. Take the parking ticket with you inside. When you have completed your appointment, you can pay by cash only at the exit gate, or you can pay by credit card at the pay station. Grace period after payment to leave, is 20 minutes. Parking rates are: 15 minutes to 0.5 hour $3.50, 0.5 hour to 1 hour $7.00 Meter Rates $0.25 = 2.5 minutes $1.00 = 10 minutes
